Bernard Okok Obuoga
Lead Technical Expert and Trainer
Bernard serves as the Lead Technical Expert and Trainer for this program. He is a distinguished peacebuilding and conflict management expert with over 20 years of experience designing and facilitating humanitarian interventions, capacity enhancement workshops, and reconciliation dialogues.
His work has a strong focus on building youth and women peace initiatives in the Horn and Great Lakes region and integrating trauma-healing methodologies into conflict transformation processes. Bernard is a technical specialist in conflict-sensitive approaches like "Do No Harm" (DNH) and brings extensive experience in strengthening interfaith relations and civil society networks. He holds an MA in Peace Studies and International Relations.
Hameed Kareem, MBA
Project Manager and Technical Expert
Hameed is the Project Manager and Technical Expert for this initiative. He is a senior humanitarian leader with over 20 years of experience managing large-scale, complex programs in conflict-affected contexts.
Hameed brings invaluable, direct experience in Sudan, having served as an Emergency Country Director leading operations in Sudan and as a Project Director designing response strategies for Sudan. He has extensive experience negotiating humanitarian access with all parties to conflict. As a technical expert, he specializes in grant evaluation and adaptive management. Hameed is fluent in both English and Arabic.

Abass Eltegani (PhD)
Peacebuilding, Media, and Human Rights Consultant
Abass Eltegani is a peacebuilding and media consultant with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of conflict, human rights, and strategic communication. He supports international organisations, NGOs, media institutions, and civil society groups in designing and implementing effective peacebuilding, advocacy, and communication strategies in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
Eltegani currently serves as Director of the SalaaMeedia Centre, where he leads programmes on peacebuilding, human rights, transitional justice, and media production. He has extensive experience developing and managing projects that promote inclusive dialogue, document violations, and strengthen community resilience in Sudan and the wider East Africa region.
Munzer Mustafa
Strategic Mentor & Institutional Capacity Building Expert
A strategic public policy and capacity-building expert with a +15-year career leading institutional transformation and social cohesion initiatives across East Africa and the Nile Basin. Currently serving as Senior Researcher | Reconstruction Initiative - Sudan, Munzer is a recognized technical authority in youth empowerment and the integration of emerging leaders into civic and political systems.
In this initiative, Munzer serves as a Lead Mentor, utilizing the KAP (Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices) model to bridge the gap between academic theory and sustainable field execution. Drawing on his extensive background in supply chain management and public policy across Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda, he provides participants with actionable insights into building resilient institutions and safeguarding civil rights in conflict-affected zones. His mentorship ensures the delivery of leadership outcomes that meet rigorous international developmental standards.
Moutasim Gamar El Din
Advisor and Senior Program Manager
Moutasim Gamar El Din is an advisor and development professional based in Khartoum, Sudan, with extensive experience in program management and civic engagement. He has held key roles with the National Democratic Institute, leading initiatives and managing teams across Sudan and South Sudan, while supporting the creation of local organizations.
He holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Planning and has strong skills in programming and data analysis. Fluent in Arabic and English, he has also participated in international election observation and published research on environmental and wildlife topics.
Rojhat Waisi Salihi
Trainer
Master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. Trainer and facilitator specializing in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and social cohesion, with 15 years of experience designing, managing, and delivering impactful training workshops for diverse groups of participants.
Sadiq Hamid
Trainer
I hold a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies and I am currently a PhD candidate in Peacebuilding. I am a lecturer at the University of Duhok, College of Humanities, Department of Peace and Human Rights Studies, where I have been teaching negotiation and mediation for over eight years. With more than 17 years of professional experience, I have worked extensively in training and capacity-building in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and related fields, collaborating with a wide range of national and international organizations.

Laura Leon
Lead Digital Course Animation Creator
Laura leads the creation of all digital animations and interactive content for the training modules.
Her expertise in instructional design and multimedia production helps translate complex peacebuilding concepts into engaging, clear, and accessible learning experiences for all participants.
Nataly Aparicio
Lead UX/UI Designer
Nataly is responsible for the design and usability of the training portal. As our lead UX/UI (User Experience/User Interface) designer, she ensures the i-aps.kapcourse.com platform is intuitive, accessible, and easy to navigate, allowing trainers to focus on learning and collaboration.
